Diocesan Course Offerings

DIOCESE OF COVINGTON FAITH FORMATION CATHOLIC BIBLE STUDY…. classes for adults and young adults – All sessions are scheduled on Tuesday evenings, 7 to 9 p.m., beginning March 6, 2018. Each workshop will take three evenings and will cover one book of the Bible. The study will begin with the Book of Numbers and, with enough interest, continue through the Book of Revelation. Our guest presenter is the Reverend Timothy P. Schehr, Ph.D., from the Athenaeum of Ohio, Mt. St. Mary Seminary of the West. The Bible is a great and wonderful book which we should all read and study. We should make an effort to understand the true meaning of the Scriptures, and not simply give passages our own interpretation. The cost to participate in each book of the Bible is $35. All sessions will be held in the Bishop Howard Memorial Auditorium, located in the Diocese of Covington Curia, 1125 Madison Ave., Covington. To register online, or for more information, please visit the diocesan website at https://www.covdio.org/scripture-study-for-young-adults-and-adult-faith-formation/, or email registration to catechesis@covdio.org, or call 859-392-1500 ext. 1526. A brochure listing the first ten courses is available on the above website.

Family Life Ministry Marriage Preparation Programs
2018 program information and schedules are available on the Diocese of Covington website. This is the “Programs for Engaged Couples” page. The information is also available in brochure form, downloadable from the same location.

All diocesan marriage preparation programs are offered regularly. However, it is crucial that engaged couples register for these programs at least 2 to 3 months prior to the program dates (generally 9-12 months before the wedding date). It is advisable for couples to attend the marriage preparation program before attending Natural Family Planning (NFP) course.

An eight-week session of New Beginnings, a support group for divorced and separated persons, will begin January 9, 2018. Meetings will be held on Tuesday evenings from 7:00-8:30 p.m. through February 27, 2018. In this faith-based group, participants will find a new understanding of themselves and their relationships and gain the courage to discover a new life. This group is sponsored by the Diocese of Covington and hosted by the Dept. of Catechesis and Faith Formation. Registration is required. For more information or to register, call 859-392-1500, ext. 1529 or email iisaak@covdio.org.
