St. Anthony Festival Update:
Over the past 6 plus months Parish Council and several Festival Committee members have reviewed and discussed our Parish Festival. All agree it is an important part of our Parish Community. Financially it is a necessity for our Parish.
Over the past 10 years proceeds have been on a downward spiral. In 2017 after expenses were paid our profit was $12,000
It has become increasingly difficult to find Parish members able or willing to serve as Chairperson, Booth Committee leaders, in addition to all of the other roles that are a must in order to have a chance for a successful event. As a result we determined that the festival as it has been is no longer providing a reasonable return on the investment of the time and hard work of those involved in the planning and execution of the festival. We appreciate the extraordinary support, time and talent which have been generously provided by current and past members of our Parish as well as their families and friends.
We have been and continue to explore rebranding the festival as well as other fundraising options. Our current plan is to have a Homecoming Fest in mid-September to celebrate the 140th Anniversary of the Dedication of St. Anthony Church.
Please check the bulletin or website for an upcoming Festival/ Homecoming planning meeting. Your attendance and participation will be greatly appreciated.
In the meantime, please continue to pray for our parish and prayerfully consider what you can do to help.
